<div>I clearly recall that many years ago another female U of I student fell from, I think it was a sorority upper floor, and sustained long term paralyzing injuries, if my memory is correct. Very tragic. I also recall that the U of I was sued over this incident.</div>

This press release makes no mention of whether drug use (I refuse to use the common phrase "drugs and alcohol" as if there is a difference worth noting beyond legal issues, given alcohol is a powerful drug, and those who use it are drug users) was involved in this fall, but if the student was under the influence of alcohol, it seems likely this fact would now be known by medical authorities and law enforcement.</div>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><font size="3" face="Times New Roman"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">On September 10, 2009 at 1:10 a.m. the Moscow Police Department responded to a 911 call from 920 Deakin Ave, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity for a reported fall. Responding officers learned a female later identified as 19 year old Amanda Andaverde of Caldwell, Idaho had fallen from a third floor window. Andaverde was transported to Gritman Hospital by Moscow Volunteer Ambulance. Andaverde suffered numerous fractures from the 27 foot fall. She was later air lifted to Kootenia Medical Center in Couer d’Alene due to the severity of her injuries. Andaverde has subsequently been air lifted from Kootenia Medical Center to Harbour View Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.</span></font></p>
