Yes Tom, I saw the humor in your post. Good oppertunity to open discussion though when some laws do more harm than good. Warren, you friend should learn that cops are trained to get suspects to self-incriminate on the spot in the course of their investigation, especially in the absence of evidence and prior to marandizing. Any episode of COPS reveals this. The episode where the crack head reports a theft of her $20 in exchange for sheetrock pieces comes to mind. The great climax...when the accused seller states "I don't sell drugs, I'm a prostitute!"<BR>

I remember hearing of this in criminal investigations class where someone reported their stereo speakers had been stolen from their home and contained several ounces of weed. <BR>

I believe the professor was a retired cop from Moscow. We spent a good portion of the class investigating facts from a murder in Moscow that had to do with a mentally challenged restaurant worker and a missing broken hammer with only one claw. Anyone know of the case?<BR>
