CRAPO WELCOMES SPRING INTERNS

Intern coordinator meets with Idaho students next week



Washington, DC - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo welcomes several Idaho students t=
o his Washington, DC, and state offices this year as they serve as interns =
for the spring semester.  All will be assisting with constituent contacts, =
legislative responsibilities, office administrative tasks and other duties.



Crapo's intern coordinator is also visiting Idaho next week to answer quest=
ions about the internship process.  Rachel Johnson, a former Crapo intern h=
erself, will visit a number of Idaho locations, meeting with students on co=
llege and university campuses.  A full schedule of these visits, which usua=
lly include classroom visits to political science classes, follows and is a=

Now serving internships in Crapo's Washington, DC, office:  Jed Bigelow, Ri=
gby, is a sophomore attending Utah State University majoring in political s=
cience.  Amanda Critchfield, Oakley, attends Brigham Young University, also=
 pursuing a political science degree.  Eric Gray recently completed studies=
 at Boise State University and graduated from Walla Walla University with a=
 degree in Business Administration and Pre-Medicine.  Rounding out the DC i=
nterns is Bryan Wheat, Pocatello, who recently graduated with a Biology deg=
ree from Idaho State University.



For the third consecutive year, Crapo's office is participating in the UniC=
apitol Washington Internship Program, part of a cooperative effort with Aus=
tralia.  Nicholas Tam, from Traralgon, Victoria, Australia, is assigned to =
Crapo's DC office this semester.  He is attending the University of Melbour=
ne, studying law and commerce.  The UniCapitol Washington Internship Progra=
m is an effort to encourage foreign students to learn more about the U.S. g=
overnment through internships.



Internships, however, are not limited to Crapo's DC office.  Several of Cra=
po's Idaho offices are hosting interns as well.  In Crapo's Idaho State Off=
ice, located in Boise, James Dorman, Pocatello, a senior majoring in Intern=
ational Studies at Idaho State University, and Bryan Ricker, Nampa, a senio=
r studying Political Science at Boise State University, are learning more a=
bout government and politics.



Erica Madrid is interning in Crapo's Southwestern Idaho office, located in =
Caldwell.  Erica is a senior majoring in Political Science at Boise State U=
niversity.



Two interns are assisting in Crapo's North-Central office, located in Lewis=
ton, for the spring term.  Tim Peterson, Eagle, is a senior seeking a Busin=
ess Degree from Lewis-Clark State College.  Kathryn Waite, Whittier, Califo=
rnia, is finishing her degree in Political Science at the University of Ida=
ho.



At Crapo's Eastern Idaho-South office in Pocatello, Joseph Nelthorpe, origi=
nally from Hemet, California, and a recent graduate of Idaho State Universi=
ty with a degree in political science, is assisting the day-to-day operatio=
ns of Crapo's office.  Katie Kearl is also working in the Pocatello office =
and planning her college career.  She is a sophomore at Highland High Schoo=
l.



Crapo's Eastern Idaho-North office in Idaho Falls office is hosting a Monte=
view native from Brigham Young University-Idaho.  Tyler Ricks is a junior m=
ajoring in agriculture business, science and technology.
