the western variety. (The eastern diamondback is supposed to be bigger,
and wikipedia (consider the source, I know) lists the record size as 8 ft, and
26 pounds, though those numbers are debated.) </DIV>

snopes.com. Your picture has been floating around the internet for a
while. It's probably a legit picture, but doubtful the Rattler weighed
anywhere near 97 pounds, and almost certain that the rattler was NOT found in
Kamiah, since it was first listed as being found in Texas and Missouri.
And boy am I glad of that!!!</DIV>
