While most of us are aware of its additions, as time passes there is an inverse awareness of its losses. As much as Historical Society's try to preserve the past, they have only the relics, photos and fossils that remain. As individuals trying to preserve the past we have our memories. We have our experiences of the past. I cherish those memories brought on by a photo, a song, a scent, a word, or a name. Maybe some of our memories can be sustained or rekindled close-to reality, but most are to remain ephemeral. But such is Life...and our <FONT color=#000000><STRONG><EM>raison d'être</EM></STRONG> </FONT>is to <U>make</U> our own memories [experiences] and select from the opportunities they bring us. It is an individual's choice to select one's
path, no matter what of the past. You can make your future fun with new experiences - at least I <U>think</U> I'm doing it (my memories will tell.)</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV>When I was kid, we went to University Four, The Bowling Ally, and the Roller Skating Rink. We also visited many of the locally owned shops in the Palouse Mall, and ate the Pantry and Nobby Inn. Sadly, I don't think any of that is still around. In High School me and my friends use to ditch class, sneak on the back bumper of a particular UPS truck (unbeknown or uncaring driver) that went down the 6Th St. Hill to UI where we jumped off and went into the Recreation Center in the basement of the SUB. After school was suppose to be out, we went to my friend Jerry's place, which was in Married Student Housing. It was fun. It is sad all of those fun places are no longer in Moscow. </DIV>
