hearing from UI students under 21 that there's nothing to do here at night, but
that translates rather easily. I was approaching the question from the
perspective of a 7th grader who can ride his bicycle almost anywhere on the
pretty good system of paths we have here. When he complains of nothing to do,
well, it's his fault really. We all get bored occasionally-- so what? Makes me
think of a Berryman "Henry" poem at which I have always chuckled.</DIV>

already available and none of the activities anyone suggested—save those
self-generated activities like stargazing, etc.—are magically known only to an
elite group of Muscovites. Some advertise with commercially produced media,
some use non-profit underwriting, others use flyers or handbills posted
throughout town. Many of us here on the Vision remind each other, “Hey, this
weekend I heard about a free activity, here are the details.” For the most
part, the Chamber of Commerce or Historical Society also distribute brochures,
etc. Moscow Parks and Rec prints staple-bound, slick-covered itineraries of
all their offerings, and of course all UI events are advertised internally as
well as (often) through other media. So, once again, unless you are willfully
ignoring resources and activities, you should be able to find something to
occupy your time while you’re here. However, that being said, part of maturing
(which is what students ostensibly do while they’re at school) is learning how
to find resources on one’s own. Warren and I aren’t magic; we don’t receive
activity references through telepathy; we just value our own time enough not
to waste it by complaining that there isn’t anything to do and have sought
activity. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>

cheap again ($5?). These were both Friday night activities. Tuesday
afternoons hold free meetings/activities at the 1912

now), food, gear and so forth. Our son made friends on that trip from
around the Northwest he still keeps up with. My hat is off to Donal
