This was cute! My favorite line: "If I didn't have Gin I wouldn't have a life."
Oh yeah, I think you can pay the tax in either of the years with no problem. They'd probably just be glad you reported it at all.
Tom, I liked the Buffalo Springfield vid too. Me and my drummer saw a documentary in history class one day about Vietnam that had this song in it and we flipped right away and made it into a Thrash Metal song since it was now the Gulf War we were in. I actually don't recall even knowing who it was by or the name of the real song, just learned it by ear you know. Didn't have Google and downloads way back....nevermind.

Don

> Message: 4
> Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 14:03:40 GMT
> From: Tom Hansen <thansen@moscow.com>
> Subject: [Vision2020] Canine Freestyle
> To: vision2020@moscow.com
> Message-ID: <200811191403.mAJE3fQJ075008@mail-gw.fsr.net>
>
> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0jNC_w1tSw
>
> Seeya round town, Moscow.
>
> Tom Hansen
> Moscow,
> Idaho
>
> ---------------------------------------------
> This message was sent by First Step Internet.
>
>
>
>
> ------------------------------
>
> Message: 5
> Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 14:48:41 GMT
> From: Tom Hansen <thansen@moscow.com>
> Subject: [Vision2020] Quick Tax Question
> To: vision2020@moscow.com
> Message-ID: <200811191448.mAJEmgGG027029@mail-gw.fsr.net>
>
> Quick tax question for y'all:
>
> If I were to receive a check in December 2008 and not cash it until
> January 2009, would I be required to claim it on my 2008 income tax or my
> 2009 income tax?
>
> Tom Hansen
> Moscow,
> Idaho
>
> ---------------------------------------------
> This message was sent by First Step Internet.
>
>
>
>
> ------------------------------
>
> Message: 6
> Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 10:04:37 -0800
> From: lfalen <lfalen@turbonet.com>
> Subject: Re: [Vision2020] Quick Tax Question
> To: "Tom Hansen" <thansen@moscow.com>, vision2020@moscow.com
> Message-ID: <0a7c18c408679521cf352c16a0169fb3@turbonet.com>
> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"
>
> 2008
> -----Original message-----
> From: Tom Hansen thansen@moscow.com
> Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 07:48:41 -0800
> To: vision2020@moscow.com
> Subject: [Vision2020] Quick Tax Question
>
> > Quick tax question for y'all:
> >
> > If I were to receive a check in December 2008 and not cash it until
> > January 2009, would I be required to claim it on my 2008 income tax or my
> > 2009 income tax?
> >
> > Tom Hansen
> > Moscow,
> > Idaho
> >
> > ---------------------------------------------
> > This message was sent by First Step Internet.
> > http://www.fsr.com/
> >
> >
> > =======================================================
> > List services made available by First Step Internet,
> > serving the communities of the Palouse since 1994.
> > http://www.fsr.net
> > mailto:Vision2020@moscow.com
> > =======================================================
>
>
>
> ------------------------------
>
> Message: 7
> Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 10:04:52 -0800
> From: "Kai Eiselein, Editor" <editor@lataheagle.com>
> Subject: Re: [Vision2020] Quick Tax Question
> To: <vision2020@moscow.com>, "Tom Hansen" <thansen@moscow.com>
> Message-ID: <64AA48D575D440DAA0169EC9F8CA2C8B@KaiPC>
> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1";
> reply-type=original
>
> It's my understanding that it goes by the year it is received not cashed, so
> 2008.
> I wanted to do that with a bonus check once.
> Disclaimer: I am not a tax professional, however, I did sleep at a Holiday
> Inn once.
>
> --------------------------------------------------
> From: "Tom Hansen" <thansen@moscow.com>
> Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2008 6:48 AM
> To: <vision2020@moscow.com>
> Subject: [Vision2020] Quick Tax Question
>
> > Quick tax question for y'all:
> >
> > If I were to receive a check in December 2008 and not cash it until
> > January 2009, would I be required to claim it on my 2008 income tax or my
> > 2009 income tax?
> >
> > Tom Hansen
> > Moscow,
> > Idaho
> >
> > ---------------------------------------------
> > This message was sent by First Step Internet.
> > http://www.fsr.com/
> >
> >
> > =======================================================
> > List services made available by First Step Internet,
> > serving the communities of the Palouse since 1994.
> > http://www.fsr.net
> > mailto:Vision2020@moscow.com
> > =======================================================
> >
> Kai Eiselein
> Editor, Latah Eagle

Color coding for safety: Windows Live Hotmail alerts you to suspicious email. Sign up today.
