Kudos to you.<br><br>I think the whole Ayers thing is overblown, and you want to pretend one of several fundraisers is the same as a singular event launching a career. I don't expect to change your mind.<br><br>But if you want to focus on past associations, what significance should we give McCain's association with retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub's group of Contra supporters? This was when the Contra's were engaged in terrorism, not a meeting 30+ years later. Those were genuine killing-people-right-now terrorists when McCain was supporting them.<br><br>It's not big news to me, it doesn't surprise me that McCain was associated with those SOBs. I don't even think it should be a big issue in this election, even though it has more relevance than Obama's 'association' with Ayers. <br><br>I think we have enough examples of McCain's awful judgment in the here-and-now.
