Idaho Public TV in <st1:place w:st="on">North Idaho</st1:place> let be respond
to your question about our Idaho Public Television signal being so bad on
cable. The cable system puts our broadcast signal on cable on Channel 12
which is the same channel our digital transmitter is operating on from
Paradise Ridge. The noise you are seeing on your set is our Digital
signal getting into the cable system or your TV tuner and mixing with
it. Your analog set sees the digital signal as noise or snow. The short
answer is to call the cable company and tell them you have an interference or
ingress problem with channel 12 on the cable at your house. They should
come and solve the problem, it could be as simple as a bad shield or loose
connection on their system up. The worst case is if the tuner in your
set isn't shielded well enough then using a "cable Box" should fix the
problem. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>

Company carried KUID on Channel 13 to avoid this problem but they decided they
couldn't spare the open channel on 12 so they moved us to 12 on the cable
system with the promise that the could and would take care of any issues this
caused. If you lived in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Moscow</st1:place></st1:City> before we moved our analog from
channel 12 and put the digital transmitter there the problem appeared as a
ghost image of our own signal caused by the time difference for the signal to
get directly to your set and to get to the cable company then to your
set. Now instead of the ghost you see the digital signal as
"noise". We periodically get calls from viewers in <st1:City

and in most cases I believe they are solved. If the Time Warner isn't
responsive please let us know so we can try to put some pressure on them, but
the trouble ticket has to be originated from the cable
viewer.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
