The reason you have to agree to have your name published is that everyone participating in the caucus is eligible to be a delegate at the Idaho Democratic Party State Convention, and by rule, all 16 delegates must have their names published in local papers so that party members know who their representatives are at convention. People who have voted Republican and Independent in the past are welcome at the Democratic caucus
but must still sign the pledge.
