– With the recent significant snowfall in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">Moscow</st1:City></st1:place> area, <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address
w:st="on">City street</st1:address></st1:Street> crews have been working
around the clock to keep the City’s streets open and passable. The
City’s snow plows have completed their initial clearing of most streets
and the sanders and graders are currently making their way throughout town.
Starting at 7:00 PM this evening the City will begin snow berm removal activities
in the downtown area and will continue over the course of the next several
nights. Residents are asked to move their vehicles out of the downtown area if
possible to allow for easier maneuvering of equipment.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

are reminded to limit non-essential travel, allow additional time to reach
their destination, and to keep watch for snow removal equipment in operation
throughout the City. The City of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Moscow</st1:City></st1:place>
constantly monitors and reports roads with slick conditions back to the
appropriate public works department for attention. If citizens have
concerns regarding a particular road, they are asked to call (208) 882-COPS to
report their concerns.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

addition to snow removal upon streets, the City also encourages citizens to
clear snow and ice from their adjacent sidewalks. Under <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Moscow</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">City</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>
ordinances, it is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner to keep
sidewalks clear of snow and debris. If a property owner is
physically unable to clear their sidewalks of snow and debris they may contact
the Moscow Snow Patrol, a Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute program at
<a href="http://pcei.org/VolunteerSnow.htm">http://pcei.org/VolunteerSnow.htm</a>.
Citizens are also requested to be observant of fire hydrant locations to ensure
that emergency access is maintained by clearing approximately three feet of
snow from around those hydrants. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
