Excuse my referencing the quote below as coming from Kit, it was from Jford. Also, tech has solved the paperperson slipping too. We can pretty much get any newspaper from around the world without even killing a single unarmed tree through the magic of the internet. Ok, so I'm feeling sarcastic again, probably not a surprise. I'm one of those darn generation X'ers that are starting to get old these days.
Look outside at your new digital meter from ITRON (stock symbol: ITRI) A spokane based company growing worldwide with meters and software. These either automatically report into the central station or are read from the street via RFID chips that send a radio frequency signal. Clearwater Power co. has the option to read your own meter or pay $3/mo for the automatic reporting. Not sure what Avista is offering now with the new meters but these do help track and report problems and inefficiencies in the system.
>
> Oh yeah, let's not forget that our rates are based on an estimated basis over the winter months to prevent the scenario Kit is talking about; although, I'm pretty sure this would be a case for Workman's Comp through the city employee benefits program as a work involved hazard not individual property owner liability. Let's keep it real here and not resort to political scare tactics.
> _________________________________________________________________
> Helping your favorite cause is as easy as instant messaging.?You IM, we give.
> -------------- next part --------------
> An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
> URL: http://mailman.fsr.com/pipermail/vision2020/attachments/20080130/41c66ee6/attachment-0001.html
>
> ------------------------------
>
> Message: 3
> Date: Wed, 30 Jan 2008 14:00:00 -0800
> From: Matt Decker <mattd2107@hotmail.com>
> Subject: Re: [Vision2020] Contractors
> To: J Ford <privatejf32@hotmail.com>, <vision2020@moscow.com>
> Message-ID: <BAY102-W7B79D32FC45C926E767BEA3360@phx.gbl>
> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
>
>
> J,
> "Did you know that if you have a meter-reader come onto your property to
> read the meter and they fall, breaking something - YOU get to foot the
> bill for their getting better....no matter how long that takes? You don't like it, talk to your representatives IF this were ever to come up before the City Council. I still don't hear anyone complaining about laws already on the books that requires noxious weeds and dangerous debris be cleaned up off the property - why is there such a bru-ha-ha when we are talking about snow?
