Hank Aaron is absolutely a class act. I was thinking more in terms of the Babe's accomplishments relative to his era where he was by himself hitting more home runs than the entire teams were hitting. And as for the stories about his heavy partying and womanizing during the roaring 1920s (again relative to his era), I first heard about them when I was in my late teens and my initial thoughts were pretty much "Babe Ruth was the greatest baseball player of all time!". If we're talking about the big picture of class act, great role model, great ambassador for the game, no steroids, no debauchery, most legitimate career home runs, etc., then I agree that

basically a .500 pitcher for those four years at 40-39. He goes to
Toronto and is immediately 21-7, and then with the Yanks
is 20-6, 14-10, 13-8, 20-3, 13-6, 17-9, followed by 18-4 in
Houston in 2004, 13-8, and 7-6, before
returning to the Yanks and going 7-6 this year. </span></font></p>
