attached!!! Donovan, you are just blowing in the wind.
There have always been strings attached. You and some of your naysayers
ought to go to a budget meeting and READ the budget before you make statements
such as this. The written statement you ask for--that's the
budget. And while you are at it, write your own e-mails. I enjoy
getting material from you, even when I disagree with you, and it
isn't difficult to tell when it's someone else. Why allow them to hide
behind your signature. Your good name is one of the most important
indicators of just who you are and you are letting someone else despoil
it. I only answer emails from you when I know you have written them.
The rest I simply let go.

re-read Arthur Miller's The Crucible. I'm sure you had to
read it in high school, but that was one important lesson you really didn't get.

Interesting how the talk has shifted from the
earlier comments on the ballot to condemnation of, in your own words,
"a broken system." Remember the talk by those who brought
and supported the suit. You can find their quotes throughout the
newspaper articles, letters to the editor, and advertisements with the
claim they only wanted a legal election. And their
message: "Just re-run the levy. It will pass just as it always
does." In fact I heard Gerry Weitz tell the school board, "The
patrons will pass whatever you ask for." Of course now that it is being
re-run, he and his supporters are doing their damndest to defeat
it.

Paul,

I think we are a long ways from starving the MSD. But, I think that we
should have some type of written statement on what the funds will be used for
and how they plan to incorporate vocational education in their education
program before handing them over $2 million a year. If any other organizations
goes to ask for money they need to provide something in writing what they are
going to do with money. Just giving that kind of money away with no strings
attached "ever" doesn't sound like responsible management of public resources.

From Blog and Mablog - http://dougwils.com/
> *Gladness or
Gloating*
> *Topic: *Exhortation
> I said last week that this
was the last of our exhortations on
> civic affairs, at least for a
while, but I was off by one week.
> There is one other set of comments
that needs to be made.
> First, it would be wrong of us to let this
election pass by
> without giving thanks to God publicly. Those in our
community who
> had specialized in harassing our ministries received a
significant
> set-back, for which we thank God.
> The second is
to commend you as a congregation for your strong
> presence in this
last election. It was extremely gratifying to see
> your involvement.
When Nancy and I went to the polls, I was
> astonished at how many of
our friends we saw there—quite unlike
> previous elections. That sort
of thing makes a difference.
> Third, all the exhortations about
service and sacrifice were not
> window-dressing. It is important for
us to be willing to give
> ourselves away, and as this new situation
creates opportunities to
> do so, let us do so gladly.
> Fourth,
don’t gloat—be glad. Gladness is not gloating, and vice
> versa.
Scripture tells us that when God intervenes on our behalf,
> and our
adversary is struggling, a good way to get God to stay His
> hand is
for us to starting gloating. Relief and thanks to God are
> most
fitting. /Neener-neener/ is never fitting.
> And last, as Shasta
discovered in /The Horse and His Boy/, when
> you do something right,
your usual reward is to be given another
> task, one probably more
difficult. I say this because there is
> /another/ election just two
days from now—a public school levy
> election. As before, we are not
telling you how to vote, just that
> you have this opportunity before
you, and this opportunity, like
> all of them, brings responsibility
with it.
>
