<div>Being convicted of a crime results in the loss of some rights, but not all. And the letter of the law is not perfect anyway in regards to upholding human rights for the law abiding or criminals; nor is the conduct of judges, juries, law enforcement and the public and/or media, in the real world. What should be rights to be respected in all cases are often not respected. It may be technically legal to release these probation reports regarding Sitler to the public, and perhaps protecting the public from danger justifies this public release. But Paul's cautions regarding "witch hunts" and the "community going too far" should also be respected as reasonable statements.

<div>Please post your concerns about "witch hunts" whenever you think it appropriate. I disagree that your concerns were expressed "unthinkingly." You stated first off that your opinion would be "unpopular," showing accurate forethought.
