I realize, Visionaires, that any of you interested in seeing what Dale Courtney burps up can just as easily peruse his Right Mind blog anytime you want without my help or encouragement. I do almost daily, and almost daily I'm disgusted. This, however, is something that goes so far beyond the pale that I write this not as a tidbit of interesting info, but an alarm. Those of you who think that the clamor and hubbub surrounding Christ Church is the fault of a group of secular, anti-Christian liberal Intoleristas with no sense of humor or perspective would do well to keep in mind what Dale Courtney, a Christ Church elder and instructor at Logos, think is funny, insightful, or prudent:

He reprints a satirical memo purporting to be from the Secret International Jewish Conspiracy LLP, updating its cronies on plans for continuing to wreak havoc on the economy, culture, and environment of the world. It's frankly too disgusting to paraphrase further, but there it is, dated yesterday, June 11, 2007. (It's right around the knee-slapping story about a woman named Butts who stole toilet paper and now faces incarceration. BUTTS -- get it????!!!!! What a scream!).

Now, there is obviously no Secret International Jewish Conspiracy LLP, and so Dale will undoubtedly, and disingenuously, crow about how Keely got all worked up over a bit of satire. He'll love that I read an obviously false memo and got angered enough to alert all of you to it. He is welcome to do that; bigots usually do, and Dale is a bigot. But as a man sorely lacking in decency, maturity, and wisdom, much less a track record of tolerance, kindness, and inclusion, he condemns himself with his cackling. The truth is that Dale Courtney, and Dale Courtney's blogsite, and Dale Courtney's church, are the last entities in the world who ought to wade into anti-Semitic humor and satire. No one should, of course; but Courtney is a man most unlikely to offer a convincing denial that he intended not an iota of offense or bigotry by printing this crap. It's just a little too close to home, coming from an elder at a church that continues to assure the world around it that antebellum slavery was a lovely exercise in racial harmony, decency, and good health care for the enslaved. Just for example.

I urge you to read this viciously bigoted piece of anti-Semitic shit -- did I mention that I know it's not real? -- and then continue to believe that the wee little men of the Kirk are just picked on for being, well, puckish pranksters and all that, merrily pricking the uptight consciences of boring, stolid ol' libs and feminists. These future men, awash in testosterone and yet seriously lacking in wisdom, appointed him an elder, eat up the poison he spreads, and let him teach at their school. They, and he, should be ashamed.

And Dale, you amaze me. I didn't think it was possible that you could be any more despicable than you've already proved to be. May God have mercy on your soul.

keely

keely

Change is good.
