Mr Fox,

As I have advised visionaries to do in my first posts and many times
afterwards, I called Probation and Parole and asked what was going on
with recently released sex offenders.

Whose word? Is it a matter of public record? If so, need you be
so hesitant to divulge the identity of the felon and the circumstances? If
not, how do you know the allegation to be true?

Most of us consider sex offenders to be serious business. I hope you
can make a response to the questions above that shows in your heart of hearts
that you really consider such crimes serious anti-social, anti-person offenses,
and not a suitable subject for the charades type games you invite us to
play.

Word has it that a recently (May 2007) released multiple sex
offender may be on his way back to jail as a result of a probation
violation.

He was convicted in 2005 of lewd conduct with a minor child
under the age of 16. (Note: he is not a level 3 sex offender. Idaho
has no such designation). While serving his sentence in the Latah County
jail, he was afforded time out to drive himself to treatment and
counseling. Once released, it seems as though there was considerable delay
in getting his photo posted on the Idaho Sex Offender Registry site, causing
some residents to question practices and policies of the state with regard to
making this information known to the public.

If the supposed probation
violation does result in his return to jail, can we mark one up for the good
guys?

Schwaller
