<P><A name=story><!--Start Story--></A>MOSCOW -- Police are planning a news
conference for 10 a.m. today at the Moscow City Council chambers to discuss the
shooting death early Saturday of David Robert Boss, 21, a University of Idaho
senior.
<P>Assistant Chief David Duke said Sunday afternoon the results of the autopsy
that was conducted on Boss Sunday will be discussed at the news conference. No
further information was available.
<P>"The facts at this point are not clear," he said. "We're not going to try and
speculate at this point."
<P>Police were called to an apartment at 1218 So. Main St. in Moscow about 1:47
a.m. Saturday, according to a news release. Boss' roommate dialed 911 after
returning home. The roommate, who was unnamed, is now staying at a fraternity
house, Duke said.
<P>Boss was last seen alive about 8:30 p.m. Friday, and was thought to have died
between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Saturday, based on reports of upstairs neighbors
who said they heard a noise about that time, Duke said.
<P>Police found Boss lying on the kitchen floor with a single bullet wound to
the head. Officers could find no vital signs of life and declared Boss dead at
the scene.
<P>No gun or other weapon was found at the scene.
<P>Boss, from Boise, was a history major at the university.</P></SPAN></DIV>
