vision gear for the Defense Department has admitted sending classified
materials overseas and will pay a $100 million penalty, according to federal
prosecutors, who say the actions of ITT Corp. have jeopardized the security of <st1:country-region
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">U.S.</st1:place></st1:country-region> soldiers.<br>
ITT, based in <st1:City w:st="on">Roanoke</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Va.</st1:State>,
exported classified or sensitive technical data to <st1:country-region w:st="on">China</st1:country-region>,
<st1:country-region w:st="on">Singapore</st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region
w:st="on">Britain</st1:country-region> without having obtained authorization

The conviction is the first involving a major defense contractor violating the
