Speaker's synopsis:

Conservative evangelical Christians are supposed to
fit nicely in the suit pocket of the Republican party. But as Christians become
more and more aware of the rich implications of historic, Trinitarian reality,
the antithesis between Christian faith and opposing viewpoints becomes starker.
This talk examines several disturbing patterns of Republican behavior over the
past half-century in order to highlight the deeper worldview assumptions that
drive conservative Republicanism, a unitarian vision of power, secrecy,
anti-individualism, moralism, and permanent war, starkly at odds with historic,
Christian Trinitarianism.
Because conservative Republicanism is far more
institutionalized and mainstream, its threat is often invisible. Yet its danger
and even body-count far exceed that of international terrorism, a threat
historically funded and nurtured by Republican administrations.
