<P><STRONG>Safe, affordable daycare for working parents, single or married, is a decades old problem that was recognized and should have been addressed by "the powers that be". . . but, hey, these are the same people who have allowed health care to become the mess it is.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>When I came home from Europe, newly divorced and with my two year old daughter, I needed to work. . . and I needed daycare. I was thrilled when my employer, the DoD, did a survey of it's workers to see if we'd be interested in on-site daycare. I was the pesky type and asked often "when are we going to get daycare?" Well, of course, everyone who participated in that survey is either dead or retired and their grandchildren are facing the same problems.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Now you would think that the DoD, part of the Federal Government, which I consider the Big Daddy of all Government, would come up with some answers and not drag it's feet almost 40 years after it identified a problem.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>I do believe there are more after school programs available now. . . that's a help for many, I'm sure.</STRONG></P>
