<div>Even if Al Gore drove a Hummer 50 miles a day for no other reason than to show off, heated his huge mansion with heating oil leaving the windows open in winter, powered his estate with electricity solely from a CO2 belching coal fired plant, flew a private jet across the USA on sin trips to Vegas to satisfy unspeakable passions every weekend, was heavily invested in Halliburton and Exxon/Mobil, and had gigantic bonfires on his estate fueled with huge vats of oil to hold satanic rituals, this would say nothing about the truth or falsehood of the scientific claims about global warming in "An Inconvenient Truth," a film that, though helpful and important, could have offered more in depth science on climate change, while being more entertaining and engaging.

<div><br> </div>I have also wondered if Al Gore is actually practicing what he preaches. I congratulate his efforts in producing An Inconvenient Truth, it's a great film and is based on solid science (highly recommended viewing for anyone that hasn't seen it), but he needs to set an example or he won't be taken seriously! I wonder if he actually offset all the emissions from the numerous flights he took all over the world giving his slideshow speech and promoting the movie. Planes use a lot of fuel and dump their emissions high into the atmosphere where they have an even more detrimental effect than emissions on the surface.

<div>Another thing that was omitted from the film was a very easy lifestyle change that can help combat global warming: eating lower on the food chain. The factory farming industry is one of the biggest polluters in this country, and growing crops to feed animals and then eating the animals is insanely wasteful (it takes about 20 times the resources to produce beef as it does to produce plants on the same land). A lot of transport fuel is used in the factory farming industry as well, as animals are very rarely bred, raised, slaughtered, and processed in the same place. I thought Al should have at least mentioned it at the end when they list what you can do to combat global warming. But then again, I'm sure he probably eats meat and didn't want to be taken as a hypocrite. I think I ought to write him a letter on the subject. I'm sure he'd be interested in hearing how he could lose those post-election pounds all while helping combat global warming.

<div>Geez, I had no idea his house was that big. Please tell me that mansion at least has solar panels!?!?!! Sounds like he needs to start practicing what he preaches or he will be losing credibility. That would be a shame, because his film was very well-researched and presents a lot of truth.
