Sirius Idaho Theatre is devastated over the disappearance of our dear friend
John Dickinson, producer and chair of Sirius Idaho Theatre. John has not
yet been found after a tragic accident on Sunday January 7, 2007 on the
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">John Day</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">River</st1:PlaceType> bridge in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State
w:st="on">Oregon</st1:State></st1:place>. The board of SIT, in
consultation with John’s family and friends, has decided to go forward with
the play “Touch” which is currently in production and the performances will be
in celebration of John Dickinson. We know that John would want the “show to go
on” as nothing ever got in the way of his enthusiasm to produce quality
theatre for the community. This is the tenth production of Sirius Idaho
Theatre and it was the one John felt the closest to and most excited about.
Ironically “Touch,” written by Toni Press-Coffman, is a heart-breaking yet
ultimately uplifting drama about dealing with the terrible loss of a loved
one. The play is set in the mind of Kyle Kalke, played by Cristofer Jean
who is an actor from “The Acting Company” in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">New York City</st1:City></st1:place>. He has traveled to <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Moscow</st1:City></st1:place> for this
opportunity to work with Sirius Idaho Theatre and with director Stan Brown,
who also directed SIT’s production “Cow-Tipping and Other Signs of
Stress.” The rest of the cast of “Touch” is made up of local actors
Kimberly Borst as Serena, Noel Barbuto as Bennie and Ulrike Rosser as
Kathleen.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">
Sirius Idaho Theatre board believes that with the collaborative efforts of all
those who love John this show will be the most powerful play emotionally that
SIT has ever produced. It is the hope that this production will “Touch” the
community and be a healing step in the community’s collective grieving
process. According to board member Jenny Sheneman, the biggest gift we
could give to John is to fill the seats of the Kenworthy for every
performance. This play is being made possible by a generous anonymous
donation. Tickets for “Touch” are on sale at Book People of Moscow 521
S. Main St and will also be available at the door. There will be a
reception at the Red Door following the show’s opening January
25<SUP>th</SUP>. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
