> It hit -49F at the house this morning and the ice fog is
terrible. In
> the flats along the Tanana River it was -51F and here
in Fairbanks it is
> now a warm -45F.
>
> What J did
not mention is that a huge storm now out in the Bering Sea is
> pushing
the cold air out of here (your direction) and bringing a lot of
> nice
warm air and snow to us and more for you. For those of you who
>
love weather related trivia, the storm that is now pounding the west
>
coast of Alaska has formed from the remnants of a powerful freak storm
>
that pounded Tokyo with an unusual amount of rain. The storm then
>
dumped near record amounts of snow on Hokkaido Island, Japan and
>
Sakhalin Island, Russia before heading out into the north Pacific where
>
it has gathered much of its current strength.
>
> Enjoy winter!
> Chris
>
>
