Freedom "from" religion is every bit as important as freedom "of" religion.
The phrase "freedom of religion" refers to every person's right to
believe or take part in any religion they choose. It's the freedom to
worship as you see fit without having to worry about being thrown in
jail for not being of a particular faith. Obviously, there have to be some
limits on worshiping, but they are few and far between. No sacrificing
of babies, for example.
"Freedom from religion" refers to a person's freedom not to have a
particular religion imposed upon them. This is a necessary consequence
of the "freedom of religion" part. You can't have freedom of religion
if you are forced to be of a particular religion by the state.
