Saturday’s performance of <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Cow-Tipping
and Other Signs of Stress<br>

<i><span style='font-style:italic'>Sirius Idaho Theatre</span></i> (SIT)
successfully opened the world premiere of <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Cow-Tipping
and Other Signs of Stress</span></i>, a new comedy by Gregory Fletcher, now
showing at the <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre</span></i>
in Moscow through September 30th. The September 23 performance includes a
talkback at the end of the evening with playwright Gregory Fletcher, visiting <st1:City
w:st="on">Moscow</st1:City> from <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">New
York City</st1:place></st1:City> for the world premiere of his play. <st1:City
w:st="on">Moscow</st1:City>’s opening night audience proved why
Fletcher’s play won the 2005 American College Theatre Festival Mark Twain
Prize for Comic Playwriting at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Kennedy</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>. <br>
<br>
A romantic dramedy laced with farce and cows, this play includes adult themes
and brief nudity. Undiscovered playwright Christopher Post has persevered
through years of rejection letters. Supported by Hilary Post, his pediatrician
wife and biggest fan, Christopher has nothing to show for his efforts except a
drawer crammed full of rejection letters from theaters around the country.
After asking the universe for a sign that he’s on the right path, and
while attempting to sell his latest play to Tina Boyette, a struggling
off-Broadway producer, Christopher runs into Gareth Webster, an old college
buddy who works for Christopher’s playwriting idol Ward Edington.
Christopher begins sneaking, stealing, hiding, conniving, teasing, and
fighting, and his life continues to snowball from there. Saving his
marriage and career will be the hardest rewrite of his life. <br>

Christopher Post is played by James (JJ) Johnston, a <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Idaho MFA</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>
candidate. Last year JJ acted in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>
of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Idaho</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> productions <i><span
style='font-style:italic'>A Flea in Her Ear</span></i> and <i><span
style='font-style:italic'>Boy Gets Girl</span></i>. Hilary Post is played by
Chris Stordahl, a second <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">year</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Idaho</st1:place></st1:State>
MFA candidate in Costume Design and Technology. Some of her past productions
include <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Wit, Stop Kiss</span></i> and <i><span
style='font-style:italic'>Ghosts.</span></i> Tina Boyette is played by
Andriette Pieron, founding board member of <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Sirius
Idaho Theatre</span></i> and Director of Neill Public Library, previously seen
in <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Steel Magnolias</span></i>. Gareth
Webster is played by Luke Daigle, who graduated this past May with a BFA in
performance from the University of Idaho Department of Theatre and Film. This
summer Daigle performed in IRT’s <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Schoolhouse
Rock</span></i> and <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Comedy of Errors</span></i>.
Directed by WSU theatre professor Stan Brown, <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Cow-Tipping
and Other Signs of Stress</span></i> portrays life issues and alternate
lifestyles in positive ways.<br>

Individual tickets and <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Sirius Idaho Theatre</span></i>
season passes are available at BookPeople of Moscow, the Moscow Farmers’
Market and the Kenworthy box office an hour before the play begins. Prices:
Adults, $15 per show or <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>$40</span></b> pass;
Seniors, $10 per show or <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>$25</span></b> pass;
