routes</div> <div><br></div>Bruce,<br><br>Something about your story doesn't make any sense. Why is the City spending $500,000+ on road construction if it has no say? Are you saying that the federal and state government can spend out city monies for us without say?<br><br>Second, I don't think anyone is saying we have a problem with construction being done. We have a problem with not being properly notified and how they are doing the project and the rate in which it is taking. Shutting down the only two major east west thoroughfares at the same time late in the summer when students are coming back is just bad planning. They should start the construction two weeks after school starts and continue till two weeks before it starts. Then space out the projects so we only have one major road shut down at a time. Perhaps do Main, then Sixth, then Third, not all three in the same 6 week period of time when school is in session. If the city cannot influence the

The work is <br>being done on the highway that goes through town. I don't know whether it <br>is federal or state authorities running the show, as both state Hwy 8 and US <br>Hwy 95 run concurrently up Washington, but this project is being driven by <br>the highway authorities, not the City, so far as I can tell.
