Such a course of action as you have outlined below would require a
level of trust in our current administration that I do not have. It's
more trust than I would want to place in our last administration as
well, and more than I care to place in the hands of any conceivable
administration I see on the horizon. The potential for abuse is too
high.

A military dictatorship would be more effective in routing out crime
than what we currently have in place, too, but I'd rather not give up
my freedoms for efficiency or effectiveness.

If you wish torture to be used, I suggest advocating for a change in
the law.
