Everyone on top of the Sixth Street hill had to be discussing it around the water cooler. Lawyers knew. Clerks knew. The prosecutor's office knew. The sheriff's department knew.</STRONG></DIV>

<DIV class=RTE><STRONG>The only reason it didn't get picked up by the newspaper is because it never went to trial. . . . it was all hashed out behind closed doors in the plea bargain. </STRONG></DIV>

<DIV class=RTE><STRONG>It was all nice and quiet and tidy. And I'm sure there's a lot of people that wish it had stayed that way.</STRONG></DIV>
