as much space and services as possible. When Jennifer talked about not
combining agencies, her point was that we do not intend to have a metro force
with one agency policing both the county and city. Our intention is to share
those things which would enhance both <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Latah</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">County</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> and City functions which would
save space, hence money, and make our respective organizations more efficient.
Examples would be sharing front desk receptionists, evidence technicians,
briefing rooms, locker rooms, training rooms, parking space, break rooms,
prisoner drop off points, and interview rooms. Efficiencies would be in person
hours and space saving. We have also talked about the possibility of things
like fuel savings if the city and county purchased bulk fuel in larger
quantities. There are a lot of other areas we are also considering and which
need to be discussed. It appears that meeting space is limited in <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Moscow</st1:place></st1:City>, so the Sheriff
and I have also talked about having a training room which could also be shared
with any community group needing a place to meet.
