Rezone</title></head><body>
<div>I agree with you entirely on the zoning/diversification issues.
That's why I have argued for decades that the City is shooting itself
in the foot every time it rezones Light Industrial ground to some
commercial zone and why we have asked for the Comp Plan map for the
Thompson land to be designated in part as Light Industrial.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>By the way, there is a hearing in front of p&z 5/24 to rezone
another 8.5 acres from Light Industrial to Motor Business. This time
it's the area around the Renaissance Mall between 3rd, A, Line and
Lieuallen. See you there, Kai?</div>

<blockquote>Except for that little water right detail. The county
appropriately took care of that when they adopted their Moscow
Sub-basin groundwater ordinance which limits the amount of animals at
any confined facility in the sub-basin. Theoretically, this would not
be an issue in the City either if they had followed their own code and
rezoned the Thompson property when annexed to Farm-Ranch Transitional
which does not allow dairy operations except as a conditional use on
parcels larger than 20 acres and facilities located more than 500'
from a property line.</blockquote>

Tom says:<br>
"One suggestion to maintain a large portion of Moscow's
"green"ery would<br>
be not to pave a 77-acre parcel that may evolve into nothing more than
a<br>
weed-infested blacktop eye-sore."<br>
<br>
Another suggestion: The best "zoning" is
"owning". You want to keep it<br>
"green", buy the sucker.<br>
