What is the crime rate of a neighborhood before the Wal-Mart was put into it vs. after?

What is the crime rate per store for Kmart, Target, ShopKO, Sears, JC Penny?

How many crimes are committed by Wal_mart haters against Wal_mart Shoppers because of the rhetoric spewed by Walmartwatch.com, as was reported on the news last night?

If you don't know the answers then your study results are not valid or comparable.

I don't see how lower prices on lower quality goods would cause crime. I do see however, Wal-Mart being located in lower income neighborhoods where crime is higher. At least if they are being committed at Wal-Mart, we can catch the criminals because there are cameras everywhere, even in the parking lots.

Take Care,

_DJA

TIM RIGSBY <tim.rigsby@hotmail.com> wrote:<blockquote class="replbq" style="border-left: 2px solid rgb(16, 16, 255); margin-left: 5px;

We requested the official police reports (ie. calls for service) from
551 Wal-Mart store locations throughout the U.S.

The results are shocking and outrageous. In 2004, at just those 551 Wal-Mart
stores, police were called to respond to over 148,331 police incidents,
including over 2,900 reports of serious or violent crimes:

1,145 Assaults
153 Sex Crimes
23 Kidnappings (or Attempts)
9 Rapes (or Attempts)
4 Homicides (or Attempts)

Based on this sample, nationally in 2004, we estimate police responded to
nearly 1 million reported police incidents at Wal-Mart stores costing
American taxpayers $77 million.

For a complete copy of the report and to view your local police report
please go
