"Like I mentioned earlier, I would have no complaint at all if the retailer
(of an outlet in excess of 100,000 square feet) were required to sign an
unbreakable 20-year lease. It's just that simple."--Tom Hansen

Let me get this straight. In the event that the Moscow Residents reject a business, and possibly go broke, you want them to still stick around for 20 more years? And how exactly would they pay for this lease if they are broke?

Also, who would they be signing the lease with it if they own the property and building? The state? How much do they owe the state if they do not use their own property?

What would stop someone from building two 99,999 sq ft buildings? Or four 49,999 with two next to each other? Or one 100,000 sq ft. building and a 80,000 sq. ft. next to a 20,000 sq ft.? What constitutes a "building"? If the lube, oil and tire center is a separate building, does that count? Is your disagreement with Wal!

really the fact that lube oil and tire center not be connected to the grocery and retail sections of the building? If so, I am sure that Walmart can meet that demand, but I fail to see how it fulfills any real need or concern for Moscow Residents.

_DJA

Tom Hansen <thansen@moscow.com> wrote:
One question:

Are any of those businesses considering the development of two 200,000
square-foot outlets once a 70-acre parcel is re-zoned, possibly to be
abandoned in a few years?

Like I mentioned earlier, I would have no complaint at all if the retailer
(of an outlet in excess of 100,000 square feet) were required to sign an
unbreakable 20-year lease.

It's just that simple.

Tom Hansen
Moscow, Idaho

"The Pessimist complains about the wind, the Optimist expects it to change<br!
