<DIV>Not to take either side here, but I would think that there are issues that cross the religious/government lines, such as issues involving morality. That is not to give a blanket definition of what morality is. Morals are going to be different for different people and groups. But all groups should be represented. Whether a clergy member chooses to speak for their congregation or as an individual, they should be allowed to without retribution, at least on moral issues.
