<P>I am glad someone pointed this out. Our nation is placing more emphasis on early childhood education than EVER before, yet during my year I was employed as an early childhood educator, I made less than $15,000 (before taxes). This was in Washington state, where I was making minimum wage. This was NOT a part time position. This was 8 hours a day. This was not the school system's fault, either. If they paid myself and the other educators more than this, they could not afford to conduct the program I worked with. It is very similar in other early childhood education settings.</P>
