Subject: [Vision2020] Wayne's false
perspective

> Clarification of Wayne
Fox's statements.
>
> I was not a manager or campaign organizer for
Linda
> Pike. I did go door to door for her just like many
> others
did, she must of had 50 other people helping
> her. I dropped fliers for
all the democratic
> candidates during the general election.
>
> I never said anything to the effect of Pike planning
> to realign
the districts or whatever Wayne meant to
> this effect.
>
>
I respect and admire both the Pike family and the
> entire Nelson family,
life long Latah residents. I
> supported Pike in the election though
because she was
> a Democrat.
>
> Linda lost the election
because she was heavily
> outspent, had a bum leg at the time so could not
do
> much door to door, and was running against a well
> liked and
respected incumbent. Over 90% of incumbents
> win reelection. She did
better against her opponent
> than any other non-incumbent Democrat in the
county in
> that non-Democratic year of 2004 where Republicans and
>
the religious right voted in record number. Just 4%
> more of the vote and
she would have won. And she will
> get it in 2006 if she decides to run
again. I only
> wish I could take credit for her amazing success.
>
> Bob Pike was Linda Pike's manager and treasurer, not
> me. But
truth be told, Linda Pike does not need a
> manager, she is an attorney,
the former Chair of the
> Latah Democratic Party, one bright cookie, and
of
> course the having had the most important job of all, a
>
mother. She knows what she is doing.
>
> Linda, let me work on her
campaign, and help, just as
> she let everyone in the community, because
she is a
> caring and inclusive person. I know, a value not
> shared
shared with many people on Venom 2020.
>
> For Mr. Wayne Fox to
state that he would contribute to
> Linda Pike's campaign if I was not
dropping fliers off
> for her is most disingenuous.
>
> The
evidence being that you he has never made any real
> sizable financial
contribution to any local democratic
> candidate ever according to county,
state, and federal
> records that candidates must report.
>
>
On a further note, if Wayne is going to start voting
> against people I
support, then he needs to start
> voting Republican and supporting Bush
because I vote
> Democrat and I do not support Bush. I was a
delegate
> for Al Gore in 2000, and elected an alternate delegate
>
for Dennis Kucinich in 2004.
>
> I find voting for people based on
the way others vote,
> or attacking candidates supporters, as a lack
of
> maturity and shows the inability of a person to think
> through
which candidate is best for the community on
> their own.
>
>
Thanks for the laughs,
>
> Donovan J Arnold
>
>
>> Melynda,
>>
>> Thank you
for your terse, pellucid (thank you for
>> that also)
comments.
>>
>> In my opinion and I think many
others, Linda Pike
>> would be a county commissioner now instead of
Jack
>> Nelson were it not for Donovan's persistence in
>>
alienating voters for her.
>>
>> Donovan
describing himself to many as Pike's
>> campaign manager and/or her
political consultant,
>> then persistently arguing in his high school
debate
>> club manner (where truth is not the object, but
to
>> win the debate) with voters really turned off many
>>
people that did not know Linda well. He also
>> claimed that
Linda was working on a plan to realign
>> the commissioner districts --
a subject sure to turn
>> off many voters who see such a machination as
a
>> benefitless-to-the-public power consolidation move.
>>
>> Many of us wondered about Linda's judgment
at
>> using Donovan at all. But he did do useful
grunt
>> work, a task that he is admirably suited for.
>>
However, in my opinion, his overall effect on her
>> candidacy was
extremely negative. I would like to
>> support Linda financially
again, however if Donovan
>> is going to have any kind of visible role
in her
>> next campaign, I feel that giving money would be
>>
most likely wasting it.
>>
>> I hope that Linda
plans her next campaign well so
>> as to prevent a recurrence.
Then many of us would
>> gladly again give her financial
support.
>>
>> Art Deco (Wayne A.
