<DIV>Pat writes about Cindy Sheehan, whose son was killed in Iraq:<BR><BR>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>"It apparently is fine with her if people are being killed by a monster and his sons with no hope of justice. To me that is not any type of Peace."</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm puzzled, Pat. Are you suggesting that peace is the state in which the U.S. is at war with every nation in which a totalitarian government is killing people? We could start with Africa: Rwanda, Zaire/Congo, Liberia, Nigeria . . . oh, wait, we established or funded those dictators, or we have significant corporate interests protected by them. Oops. Fiji? That was us too. Central America? No, we pretty much had our fingers in those pots, too. Of course, come to that, we were pretty palsy with Saddam Hussein and the Taliban for a while there too. And right now we're cozying up to a swell guy in Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, the latest in a string of U.S.-backed military dictators there. And getting back together with our old friends in Indonesia--we've always had really good relations with the military there.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>What type of Peace would satisfy you, Pat? A peace in which bereaved mothers don't inconvenience you with their grief and rage? A peace in which young people deserve to die because after all they volunteered? A peace in which we need no reasons, ask no questions while sending hundreds of people to their deaths?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Of course I'm wrong, but I thought that was war.</FONT></DIV>
