Months ago I thought of saying something about this. . . . I don't think Christ Church members are being singled out for nasty things happening to their businesses. Many of us in business downtown put up with acts of vandalism daily and they go unreported to the police. I have to nail down my plants that hang outside my business. . . . . my windows have been broken as were the windows of Northwest Showcase and others. . . there was an epidemic of broken windows a few years ago. Just last week I had to replace 5 or 6 of the roof tiles on my business. . . . they were ripped off and thrown into the middle of 6th street. A few days ago I noticed that the business down the street from me had their planter torn up. . . . and forget about outside Christmas decorations. . . . it's just plain silly to even try.

I know it hurts when you're targeted for vandalism and you lose something. . . it doesn't have to be expensive. . .maybe just something pretty that caught your eye and brings you pleasure. I remember the Christmas lights outside of New St.Andrews a few years back. . . . we all were victims because we all lost something beautiful and pleasurable to look at.

This community is not perfect. . . it happens to be made up of many interesting and imperfect people. . . . but sometimes you just like something warts and all.
