<P><B>Jack Porter</B>: <SPAN>I'm</SPAN> aware that the committee members have heard from me frequently. I want to say something new to you. If you take the time to look at the costs estimates<SPAN>,<SPAN> </SPAN>don't</SPAN> understand why the estimated costs to renovate the MHS were so high. <SPAN>And</SPAN> I still don't understand all of it. <SPAN>One likely component – remodeling the auditorium.</SPAN> I think the auditorium is pretty nice, and bigger than the planned one. What thought process led to the inclusion of that. <SPAN>1+</SPAN>M for walls/partition replacement. <SPAN>Making some classrooms bigger?</SPAN> <SPAN>That’s</SPAN> a lot of money. More cost effective to hire more teachers with smaller class <SPAN>sizes?</SPAN> <SPAN>$3.6M for gym/locker rooms.</SPAN> The proposal was to build new gym/lockers in the new annex. I understand that they are in bad shape; but the gym is a <SPAN>pretty nice</SPAN> gym. <SPAN>Let’s</SPAN> not try to hold to hold competitive athletic events in the HS. <SPAN>There’s</SPAN> not state req for PE in 11-12. We should be able to do lifestyle classes in the existing gym without spending that kind of money. </P>

<P><STRONG>Architect:</STRONG> I take any question that you might have and give you the backup info you need for why we did it that way. <FONT size=4><STRONG>It was a comparative analysis – directive by the FPC. <SPAN>What are we going to do at the existing HS is the equivalent at a new school.</SPAN> So equivalency to a new HS – as if a <SPAN>brand new</SPAN> auditorium. So all aspects <SPAN>were developed</SPAN> under that notion. If the FPC or Trustees want us to downgrade, we can do that. </STRONG></FONT></P></SPAN></DIV></TD></TR>
