<HTML><BODY STYLE="font:10pt verdana; border:none;"><DIV>Dear Visionaries:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As Rose and Saundra have kindly informed us, Doug has recently updated his definition of Intolerista. (See: <A href="http://www.dougwils.com/index.asp?Action=Anchor&CategoryID=1&BlogID=748">http://www.dougwils.com/index.asp?Action=Anchor&CategoryID=1&BlogID=748</A>.) However, as Doug has a tendency to be both longwinded and shortsighted -- a deadly combination -- I've decided to help the members of this list, the folks at Merriam-Webster, and the Lewiston Morning Tribune's Jim Fisher by providing a clear and official definition of the word. To wit: </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Intolerista</STRONG> (in'tol ur ee' stah), n., pl. -s. <EM>Currently meant to be offensive</EM>. 1. A person having views contrary to those of Moscow Pastor Douglas J. Wilson. 2. Person or persons who are not Moscow Pastor Douglas J. Wilson, e.g., all the rest of us. <STRONG>Usage</STRONG>: Pastor Wilson considers <EM>intolerista</EM> derogatory and offensive, as those to whom the word is applied generally prefer terms like liberal, progressive, conservative, Libertarian, Evangelical, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Jew, dog-owner, Republican, Democrat, Independent, Mariners' fan, free thinker and/or human being. Note bene: As the meaning of <STRONG>intolerista </STRONG>seems to be fluid, entirely dependent upon the current level of Pastor Wilson's bile, see also <STRONG>neologism</STRONG>.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Greetings from The New Devil's Dictionary,</DIV> <DIV>Joan Opyr/Auntie Establishment</DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.auntie-establishment.com">www.auntie-establishment.com</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV></BODY></HTML><br clear=all><hr>Get more from the Web.
