<DIV>Visionaries:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Recently Doug Wilson posted on his blog site <dougwils.com> that he
had received an anonymous email that included the observation:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>"You [Doug Wilson] argue better than anyone. And you are very
articulate. People . . . know that if they come to talk with you that they will
not win." </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Let me assure the anonymous writer and Doug Wilson himself, that although
Doug has brow-beaten his congregation into believing that his grasp of *truth*
can not be effectively challenged the larger community is not as clear on that
point. Perhaps that is because we lack the economic stranglehold
that accompanies Doug like an invisible thug every time he opens his
mouth. I have heard that Doug reads for tonnage. That may well be
true, but he understands and incorporates by the ounce as illustrated by his
thoughts on C.S. Lewis and Tolkien <A

(C- minus work for a college freshman, Doug.)</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Further, and most importantly, it is not a question of *winning*
against Doug Wilson in an argument. In matters of spiritual
conviction Doug is not be the authority. His
opinion (IMO) is no more binding than the man in the moon.....unless,
(for those who believe in a final judgment) they expect to provide God with
the excuse that Doug Wilson is responsible for their thoughts and actions
because he could argue better than they could.</DIV>
