Greetings:

I just got back from a 2-week trip to NC, DC, and NYC. While in the Big
Apple I had a nice visit with Forrest Church, senior minister at All
Souls Unitarian Universalist Church. We were reminiscing about his
two recent visits to Moscow. Some of your may recall his debate
with Doug Jones in September, 2003, which, although it was supposed to be
on the nature of the good life, turned about to be a debate on the
Trinity.

In the aftermath of that debate, I wrote a 5,000 word response to Jones
and he promised that he would publish a two-round debate on the Trinity
in Credenda Agenda. I prepared my first 400-words and posted
it on the Vision. Many months later Jones answered with a
400-word response. I thought that Jones had missed all the
important points and he charged me with the same. We agreed to
start all over again, and I wrote a new salvo and posted on the Vision in
June, 2004. (That piece is now the "Summary" of my long article
at www.class.uidaho.edu/ngier/trinity.htm.) I thought that Jones would
have plenty of time during his 2004 summer break to prepare his response,
but so far there has been nichts, nada, nihil,
ingenting, shunyata, or bloss nit, as Meister Eckhart would
say in his medieval German.

So, Doug, what is the problem? I will hold you to your promise to
publish the full debate in your journal.

confusing,
