<DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4>Republicans are not the only victims of
pre-election vandalism. Democratic candidates report theft and destruction
of campaign signs and materials. In addition, the Latah Democrats HQ was
vandalized to the extent of over $1000 in damage.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4>All of us should strongly condemn such
anti-free expression tactics whichever candidate or party is the target.
We should also report the culprits when we see such vandalism
occurring.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4>As a side note, some political (and real
estate) signs have been victims of the high winds that have gusted lately on the
Palouse (and the wet, softened ground). (I hope the winds are non-partisan
and the candidates will pick up the debris that is now scattered all
over.) Also, it is illegal to place campaign signs or material on road
right-of-ways. The state and others periodically remove such material
found in violation. </FONT></DIV><FONT face="Verdana Ref" size=4>

<DIV>Has there been any word from the DNC or its local constituent whether the
extensive thefts of Bush campaign signs from private property across Moscow
will be used for some good purpose?</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>Perhaps the Pro-Theft minority has a mean-spirited response to the evil
regime of bank destabilization, erosion of choice, and siltation of the
political waters in mind, and plans to creatively thwart these changes in
Idaho by shoring up the loose and fertile (but slipping soil) of Latah voters
by affixing said signs to sluffing creek/pasture interfaces?</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>What a sight hundreds of plastic, patriotically colored signs would make
along Paradise Creek, stapled to the riparian zone in an effort to make good
the formerly wasted petroleum resources. And the motto?
Perhaps:</DIV>

longer than mere jute matting.</DIV><X-SIGSEP><PRE>--
