<P><FONT size=4><B>Small steam eruption at Mount St. Helens</B></FONT>
<P>A steam explosion and simultaneous earthquakes were detected today at Mount
St. Helens. The eruption occurred from the south end of the crater. Geologist
Willie Scott did not immediately know the ash content of the plume.
