Gavin strikes again as you can read below from five days ago.  Gavin is one
of the most lucid, rational, verbally competent scientists I have ever
read, who can express complex scientific issues in relatively simple
language.  He does not appear, as far as I have discovered, to have a big
elitist academic "I am smarter than you" ego, though he is whip smart!   I
have had personal exchanges with him via email on his GISS email account.
This surprised the heck out of me, given I am a nobody who he could easily
ignore!
