The last of 88 cats that were surrendered last year to Second Chance Animal Services have found their forever home just in time for Caturday.

Last of 88 cats have been adopted after being surrendered in the fall, all rehabilitated by Second Chance Animal Services

The last of 88 cats that were surrendered last year to Second Chance Animal Services have found their forever home.

A man surrendered 52 cats to the animal shelter in North Brookfield back in October, MassLive previously reported. Almost a week later, an additional 16 cats were added to the original 52.

The 68 total jumped to 88 when a few of the cats having kittens.

The man had to leave home and couldn’t bring the cats with him, so he leaned on Second Chance Animal Services for help. The nonprofit animal welfare organization took in the cats, helping with the cats care and making plans to find them new homes, MassLive previously reported.

Fast-forward to May 2022, and all 88 cats have a home.

“Some are still awaiting dentals before they can be officially adopted, but we are so happy they have all left the shelter and moved on to the next chapter of their lives!!,” the shelter wrote on their facebook.

A very happy update on all 88 cats and kittens from last fall's local rescue.  All 88 have found homes!
