A bit of light reading (ha, ha...) as we contemplate nuclear war.  If
Russia violates the logic of *mutually assured destruction*, which
ostensibly prevents nuclear war by guaranteeing that whoever uses nuclear
weapons in war will be utterly destroyed, well... The fact this
possibility is even being discussed recently in mainstream media is
alarming to the nth degree.  One of the main problems with MAD game theory
is the assumption the players are rational, and will not commit suicide to
destroy the "enemy."  Who will predict that a suicidal despot will never in
the future gain control of a nuclear arsenal?  Some scholars considering
the risks of nuclear war have concluded it is only a matter of when, not
if, nuclear weapons will be employed against human beings.

This book might seem not exactly related to issues regarding nuclear war.
But the themes and arguments broadly address why humanity has created the
insane situation of facing nuclear armageddon,
