Not Just Another Gnome Community
 
In the fields of golden wheat,
I came across an amazing treat;
A village in an apple tree,
it was a gnome community!

Extraordinary was this place,
where lives another sort of race;
caretakers of nature these folks be
and quite a wise society.

Thatched and shingled roofs, alike,
glisten in shimmering sunlight;
a barn held tiny animal babes,
the gnomes adopted for to save.

A spiral staircase was in the trunk,
every house was filled with bunks;
tiny cook stoves filled with wood,
were cooking the most succulent food.

I breathed deeply in the scent,
and hunger pangs did then descend;
I left them there so they could dine
and off to McDonald’s I took a drive.
