Fifteen-year-old girl is becoming a cat whisperer at her local humane society. She's clocked nearly 1,900 hours of volunteer time with the felines, and also fosters kittens at home. Someone get this kid an invitation to Caturday.

Teen cat whisperer recognized for clocking nearly 1,900 hours of dedication to feline friends

Fifteen-year-old Blake Austin is becoming a cat whisperer at her local humane society.

She’s clocked nearly 1,900 hours of playtime with the fluffy felines at Brunswick Midcoast Humane Society.

Besides her work at the shelter, Blake also fosters kittens at home. Her love for cats started at a young age, but she wasn’t allowed to have one growing up.

Blake’s father has a severe allergy to cats, so she loved them from a distance.

One day, though, her father realized how much cats meant to Blake and created a cats-only room.

Now, Blake’s adoration of cats isn’t going unnoticed.

She’s been recognized by several national organizations, including one that gifted her $10,000.
