[Vision2020] William Barr’s Handling of the Mueller Report

 William Barr is reincarnating his predecessor John Mitchell, who, until now, is the only U.S. Attorney General to serve time in prison. Barr's apparent mental illness that suggests to him that he should serve time behind bars because his surname condemns his professional malfeasance, which then further goads his self-incriminating conduct, is fascinating.
Mitchell was a bond lawyer and Nixon's law partner previous to Federal service,  He may not have been an enthusiastic recruit to government, but once in, he was all in for his friend Nixon.
Analogously, Barr was recruited from semi-retirement, lured by the prospect of defending his pet abstract theory of presidential power, the unitary executive, in real life.  Unfortunately for Barr, Trump's command to him to "enjoy your life" at a press conference shortly after appointment appears to have taken twists Barr did not expect.  None the less, Barr is all in.
Contemporary YouTube videos bring to mind Mitchell testifying before Senator Sam Ervin's televised Senate committee 46 years ago.  Whether or not history rhymes as it repeats itself is unknown, but it does seem that our ship of state, a steam-powered paddle-wheeler, is close enough to a sandy river bottom for the depth gauge man to holler "Mark Twain" before the gambling guys and dolls aboard get themselves into any more trouble.
